The main goal of the project was to reduce vehicle traffic, which had divided the coastline into beach and residential areas. The road was narrowed to two lanes, and parking spaces were relocated. Thanks to the designed road geometry and the material used for the pavement, traffic slowed down, and the avenue became almost pedestrian-friendly
In some areas, car traffic was completely eliminated and replaced with free circular buses for residents. Thanks to ramps and elevators designed along the promenade, people with disabilities, the elderly, and parents with strollers can access the area without obstacles.
The construction of the project was completed in 2017.
